About 5H Farms
5H Farms specializes in the Gypsy sport horse, the Haflinger sport horse and the our unique sport cross. We just recently moved our farm from northwest Wyoming to southern Arizona! We are now located in a wonderful area outside of Tucson which carries a colorful western heritage. Tombstone, Bisbee and Benson are just minutes away as is the OK Corral and home of Wyatt Earp! The Tucson/Vail area lays host to several wonderful Bed and Breakfasts as well as a regional airport. Colossal Cave National Park is located just minutes from our farm and is a wonderful place to take in the Sonoran landscape from horse back. Tucson is a hub for winter equine activities with a strong presence for the dressage and jumping scene! We are a small but quality family owned farm with a mission of providing a beautiful horse with a steady temper for both sport horse and pleasure use. We think we have found all of these qualities in the Haflinger Horse and the Gpysy Horse. Both possess good bone, solid calm temperaments and wonderful coloring! We hope to provide the modern version of both breeds and price ranges to fit most budgets. We have researched both breeds extensively and in 2005 attended the World Haflinger Show in Ebbs, Austria ( see photos on the photo gallery page). We have been fortunate to have worked with several quality Gypsy farms here in the US and are planning a trip to Europe in the near future. We have recently added a 3rd breed option to our string of mares - the Georgian Grande! Take a look at Princess Passage! This breed possesses color, temper and athleticism while given more height and will be a competive mount in both dressage and show jumping. We will not be breeding until 2009 for 2010 foals and are busily training to show what each mare can do in the show ring. Keep checking back as we will update photos and info with our progress this year. ******************************************************* With so many young ones to start we welcome Alex Levine to our farm to help us with this exciting endeavor! Prior to moving to Tucson to study Equine Science at the University of Arizona, Alexandra Levine lived in Sonoma County, California all her life. Since the age of four she has been riding horses. She began at a small barn in San Anselmo, California. As she got older, she started training with Yves and Christine Sauvignon in Santa Rosa, California. After competing in Three-Day Evening for over twelve years, she and her horse moved to Fairwind Farm to train with Sue Curry and Mattias Ekeroth. Sue Curry, the owner of Fairwind Farm, has had a successful career in competitive FEI level Dressage for over twenty years, and had been long listed for the World Championships. Alex was Mattias' first student in the United States, and his training brought her riding skills to a new level. Mattias, originally from Sweden, has trained with Grand Prix and Olypmic level riders throughout his life, and has also produced some of the best horses on the American and European show circuits. Including one of these horses was Alex's imported Holsteiner gelding, Aridus. Alex also started riding with Kristen Aggers, a Prix St. Georges level Dressage rider. She assisted Kristen in the training of other horses as well.
Alex has competed successfully in Show Jumping at the upper levels, usually placing in the top three, and also has a solid foundation in Dressage. She has worked with many young horses, especially Thoroughbreds and Warmbloods. Along with the love of the sport, she brings patience, consistency, and experience to the horses she rides.
